Portugal’s Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) has detained six people suspected of illegally inflating ticket prices for upcoming Bad Bunny concerts, which take place this Tuesday and Wednesday at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica in Lisbon.

In a statement shared on social media, ASAE said the arrests were carried out as part of a criminal prevention operation conducted in recent days, codenamed “Puerto Rico.” The operation also resulted in the seizure of 14 tickets.

The investigation centered on promotional posts across social media platforms and revealed that tickets were being offered at prices significantly above their face value. According to the authorities’ calculations, the illegal sellers stood to earn between 120 and 410 euros per ticket.

The six individuals targeted by the proceedings were formally identified and ordered to appear in court. However, ASAE clarified that after being brought before the judicial authority, the defendants were granted provisional suspension of the proceedings for periods ranging from five to six months, on condition that they pay between 400 and 1,000 euros or complete community service of up to 110 hours.

The authority also warned consumers against purchasing tickets above the official price, noting that speculative resale constitutes a criminal offence carrying a prison sentence of six months to three years and a fine of no fewer than 100 day-fines.

The first of Bad Bunny’s two Lisbon shows begins at 20:00 on Tuesday, with support act Chuwi opening the night. The Puerto Rican artist is scheduled to take the stage at around 21:00.
