American singer and rapper Post Malone has postponed his upcoming Hong Kong concert, leaving many fans disappointed and frustrated. The announcement was made on Thursday via social media by concert organizer Live Nation Hong Kong, stating that the September 16 show at Kai Tak Stadium would be delayed.
The statement provided no reason for the postponement but outlined full refund procedures for ticket holders who purchased through official platforms. Original ticket prices ranged from HK$699 (US$90) to HK$3,199 for the venue’s 50,000-seat capacity.
The sudden news has angered fans, particularly those from mainland China who had already arranged time off work and made travel plans. One user on the popular social media platform RedNote expressed frustration, saying, “I’ve already applied for my holiday leave and booked my hotels.” Another commenter criticized the brevity of the announcement: “They just said ‘postponed’ in a single sentence, zero concern for our flight tickets and hotel bookings.”
Some fans have questioned whether the decision might be related to underwhelming ticket sales, though no official explanation has been provided.
