KHYBER – Agitated students from the Postgraduate Degree College in Landi Kotal gathered on Monday to protest the postponement of their semester examinations.

Carrying banners and placards bearing slogans, they blocked the Peshawar‑Torkham Highway temporarily. The demonstrators held the University of Peshawar responsible for the delay, which they said has jeopardized their academic year.

According to the protesters, the examinations for various semesters were originally scheduled for February but were postponed due to heightened tensions along the Afghanistan border. The University of Peshawar had pledged to reschedule the exams once the border situation stabilizes, yet no new dates have been announced.

The students noted that their final term examinations were set for July 15, and they will be barred from sitting for those exams until the outstanding papers are completed.

They warned that if the authorities do not announce a revised timetable within two days, they will extend their protest to the Chief Minister’s secretariat in Peshawar.
