Coatings specialist PPG has appointed Alex Lopez as vice president of investor relations and operational finance, effective 1 October.
Lopez, currently director of investor relations, will report to senior vice president and chief financial officer Jamie Beggs.
In his new role, Lopez will continue to lead investor relations while also overseeing enterprise operational finance.
Key duties include capital discipline, productivity oversight, and improving the effectiveness of operational finance functions.
Lopez brings over two decades of experience at PPG, holding senior finance roles across various business units and corporate functions.
Before moving to investor relations in 2024, he served as global finance director for automotive OEM coatings.
In 2017, Lopez relocated to Mexico City to become finance director for architectural coatings in Latin America, where he contributed to the growth of PPG Comex.
Lopez’s early career included financial planning and liaison positions at GE Appliances and its joint venture Mabe through their financial management programme.
PPG, headquartered in Pittsburgh, operates in more than 50 countries and reported net sales of $15.9 bn in 2025.
PPG Latin America vice‑president Adriana Macouzet retired in April 2026.
From the same date, Jennifer Solcz, formerly vice president of protective and marine coatings for the US and Canada, was appointed vice president of protective and marine coatings for the Americas, adding Latin America to her portfolio.
