Predicted Final Match Card Additions for WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event

WWE is preparing to stage its next Sunday Night’s Main Event next weekend, with the special broadcast set to take place in Atlanta, Georgia.

The current lineup features three confirmed attractions, highlighted by the historic first-time encounter between Bron Breakker and Oba Femi, a WrestleMania 42 rematch pitting Randy Orton against Cody Rhodes, and the in-ring debut of Lil Yachty.

With only three matches officially announced, there is still room for additional bouts to be added to the card before next weekend’s show.

Here are several potential matchups that could round out the WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event card.

Blake Monroe vs. Giulia

During last week’s episode of SmackDown, WWE executed a bait-and-switch segment centered on the debut of Blake Monroe.

Following a four-month build where “The Glamour” had only teased stepping into the ring, her announced debut match against Giulia was cut short when Blake attacked Giulia during her entrance.

Although Blake has stated that she is holding out for a WWE Women’s Championship opportunity, that stance will almost certainly not be accepted by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, making her eventual debut against Giulia a likely outcome down the line.

Booking Giulia versus Blake for Sunday Night’s Main Event would be an effective way to signal that the storyline has not been abandoned by the creative team.

Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab

Tatum Paxley made her WWE main roster debut on SmackDown following SummerSlam, when she rushed to the aid of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss during an altercation with Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab.

Tatum is scheduled to make her in-ring debut against Michin on this week’s SmackDown, which should finally set the stage for the blow-off match in this ongoing rivalry.

Back in May, Jade, Michin, B-Fab, Charlotte, and Alexa were all involved in a six-woman tag team match at a previous Saturday Night’s Main Event, though with Rhea Ripley now replaced by Tatum Paxley.

SmackDown’s women’s division has struggled with inconsistent booking throughout the year, and a decisive match like this could allow all involved performers to move on to new programs.

WWE Women’s Championship – Chelsea Green (c) vs. Nia Jax

After capturing the Interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, Chelsea Green suffered an orbital bone injury that cast doubt over her in-ring future.

However, Chelsea has since been medically cleared to compete, and is set to team with Tiffany Stratton against Nia Jax and Lash Legend on this week’s SmackDown.

With Chelsea now cleared for action, it appears clear that Nia Jax is positioned as her first challenger, particularly following Nia’s recent attacks on both Chelsea and Tiffany on SmackDown.

Sunday Night’s Main Event would provide an ideal platform for Chelsea to make her first successful title defense.

Royce Keys & OTM vs. The Usos & Jacob Fatu

A major angle unfolded at the conclusion of last night’s WWE Raw, when Royce Keys made his return during the Usos versus LA Knight and Solo Sikoa main event.

Keys was not alone, as he was accompanied by Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM, with the trio laying out everyone in their path.

With LA Knight appearing to be the next contender for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship, the remainder of The Bloodline would be free to address the threat posed by Keys and OTM.

Introducing this new faction in a six-man tag team match at Sunday Night’s Main Event would provide an excellent spotlight for the group.

Undisputed WWE Championship Number One Contender’s Match – Finn Balor vs. Gunther vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

At the previous Saturday Night’s Main Event held in Madison Square Garden, Sami Zayn was once again denied his opportunity to determine the Undisputed WWE Championship number one contender.

In the weeks since, several prominent superstars have continued to position themselves in the title picture, including Sami, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, and Gunther.

With no single competitor clearly ahead of the rest, Sunday Night’s Main Event would serve as the perfect venue to host a major four-way match, with the victor earning a future showdown against CM Punk.
