US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his administration is terminating a decade-long security aid agreement with Israel, which facilitated $3.8 billion in annual military assistance to the nation until 2028. Trump asserted that Israel was agreeable to the decision, noting that the aid framework, established in 2019 under former President Barack Obama, was no longer necessary. “We will assist Israel if the need arises,” he stated during an interview on the current affairs show Fox and Friends, adding that the move was made in agreement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
