The United States executed a remarkable comeback to secure an unprecedented 11th consecutive Presidents Cup title on Sunday, defeating the Internationals 17-13 with former President Donald Trump in attendance.
Jacob Bridgeman clinched the victory at Medinah by converting a four-foot par putt on the 18th hole to defeat Australia’s Min Woo Lee 1-up.
The American squad improved their all-time record in the biennial event to 14-1-1 after overcoming a 10.5-7.5 deficit heading into Sunday’s 12 singles matches. The Internationals, who were on the verge of ending a 28-year drought, ultimately fell short once more.
Featuring eight of the world’s top 11 ranked players, the Americans claimed victory at the same suburban Chicago venue where Europe triumphed in the 2012 Ryder Cup via the legendary Miracle at Medinah rally.
“These players never lost faith,” US captain Brandt Snedeker said. “I told them the night before that anything can happen at this track. Medinah has a history of unexpected outcomes, and sure enough, they went out and played exceptionally well. I am incredibly proud of them.”
Trump, who previously attended the United States’ Ryder Cup loss last year, added this event to his growing 2026 sports viewing itinerary, which already includes the World Cup final, NBA finals, college football, UFC, IndyCar, and various golf tournaments.
“He told me he would bring some energy for you all today, as you needed it,” Snedeker recalled. “And I told him that if we succeeded, he would receive all the credit. So, thank you, President Trump.”
