Prime Video Announces High‑Stakes Return in ‘Apocalypse Z: New World’

The safest refuge during a zombie outbreak is any place the infected cannot reach. For the survivors of Prime Video’s Apocalypse Z, escaping the TSJ‑ravaged Spanish mainland and finding shelter in the Canary Islands bought them precious time. However, staying put will not guarantee safety.

While the first film focused on a solitary struggle—Manel sheltering at home with his cat as the world collapsed—the sequel widens the scope. A group of survivors must abandon Europe’s last safe haven and venture back to the mainland in search of supplies, confronting not only the infected but also new dangers.

Apocalypse Z: Part II, now officially titled Apocalypse Z: New World, lands on Prime Video on October 30. The Spanish horror sequel follows a rescue mission that takes the team from the Canary Islands back to the contaminated mainland. Actor Roberto joins the squad, but his hidden motives sow distrust among the crew as they battle both hordes of infected and internal conflict. The film also premiered at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles on October 13.

‘Apocalypse Z’ Is Sending Its Survivors Back Into Danger

The Canary Islands have become Europe’s final sanctuary after the outbreak, yet the upcoming mission underscores that even refuge has limits. The desperate need for supplies makes a hazardous return to the infected mainland worthwhile, though the travelers can no longer trust each other fully. Roberto’s questionable agenda adds another layer of risk to an already perilous operation. Carles Torrens returns as director, with Ángel Agudo penning the screenplay based on Manel Loureiro’s novels. The cast includes Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, José María Yazpik, Berta Vázquez, and Mónica López, and Prime Video positions the film as a larger ensemble story that expands beyond the survival focus of the 2024’s Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End.

Prime Video promoted the original series as one of its most‑watched international releases, and it remains available for streaming while the new chapter approaches.
