Beyond the notable on-air exchange between Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy, the Week 4 Thursday night contest on Prime Video delivered substantial viewership numbers.

According to Amazon, the broadcast averaged 16.59 million viewers.

This represents a 19-percent increase compared to last year’s Week 4 Thursday night game between the Seahawks and Cardinals, which averaged 13.94 million viewers.

The figures mark the most-watched Week 4 Thursday night game since Prime Video assumed the broadcasting package in 2022.

Uncertainty remains regarding whether Amazon may be inflating these totals by autoplaying the stream for any visitor to the Prime page during the telecast. Nevertheless, the higher ratings are advantageous for both Amazon and the NFL.

Thursday Night Football is evidently here to remain, though the ongoing question is whether a weekly Tuesday or Wednesday night broadcast will eventually be added to the schedule.
