WWE experienced an unexpected production mishap during Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The error occurred prior to a six-woman tag team contest and featured a name that caught fans off guard when it appeared on the arena display.
Kelly Kelly Graphics Accidentally Appear During Tatum Paxley’s Entrance
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss had already entered the ring when Tatum Paxley began her entrance. However, as the former NXT Women’s Champion approached the ring, Kelly Kelly’s name and associated graphics briefly appeared on the titantron.
The graphics were partially corrupted and vanished quickly, indicating that the production team had inadvertently loaded the incorrect entrance package. Nevertheless, the mistake was prominent enough for viewers to notice it immediately.
Kelly Kelly is currently signed to a WWE Legends contract after returning to the company on a full-time basis on April 8, 2025. The former Divas Champion’s most recent televised WWE match occurred at the Women’s Royal Rumble on January 29, 2022, which was won by Ronda Rousey.
The unexpected titantron appearance naturally sparked speculation about whether WWE had quietly arranged something involving Kelly. However, there was no indication during the broadcast that the moment was intended as a return tease.
Paxley later partnered with Flair and Bliss against Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab. The contest concluded with Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab securing the victory after Flair and Paxley collided while attempting simultaneous Figure Eights, allowing Cargill to deliver a Jaded on The Queen.
So, while Kelly Kelly briefly captured attention on screen, there is no indication she is returning to WWE’s active roster. In this instance, the surprise was apparently simply a case of the wrong graphic being triggered.
