The professional wrestling community is grieving the loss of Andy Williams, widely known by his ring name “The Butcher,” who has passed away at the age of 48.
The tragedy occurred during an Enjoy Wrestling event on September 5. Williams suffered a medical emergency during a tag team match and received immediate CPR at the venue before being transported by ambulance for emergency care.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has since confirmed Williams’ passing, as first reported by TMZ.
Williams entered the professional wrestling circuit approximately ten years ago, eventually achieving international prominence in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He was signed to the promotion alongside his longtime partner, Jesse Guilmette (known as “The Blade”), where the duo became a staple of the AEW roster as The Butcher and The Blade.
Beyond the squared circle, Williams was a talented musician, serving as the guitarist for the heavy metal band Every Time I Die. His versatility allowed him to leave a lasting legacy in both the music and athletic worlds.
