ProMIS Neurosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: PMN) reported Tuesday that its lead Alzheimer’s disease drug candidate, PMN310, achieved the first human evidence of dose-dependent reduction in amyloid-beta oligomers—a toxic protein form linked to the condition—during a Phase 1a trial in healthy volunteers.
The study revealed that participants administered PMN310 exhibited measurable decreases in amyloid-beta oligomers in cerebrospinal fluid at both three-day and 29-day intervals post-dosing, with reductions correlating to administered doses. These results mark one of the earliest quantitative validations of oligomer reduction in human subjects.
The drug is currently under evaluation in the Phase 1b PRECISE-AD trial, targeting patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild Alzheimer’s disease. The company plans to release preliminary six-month data from this ongoing study in the near term.
ProMIS Neurosciences closed trading at $12.80 on Monday, reflecting a 10.18% decline.
