PSX Adds Three Meezan Funds as Proprietary Participants for Government of Pakistan Sukuk Trading
<p class="MsoNormal"><b data-amp-original-style="font-size: 0.84rem;" class="amp-wp-dcbc960">September 4, 2026 (MLN): </b><span data-amp-original-style="font-size: 0.84rem;" class="amp-wp-dcbc960">The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has approved the induction of three Meezan‑managed mutual funds as proprietary trading participants for Government of Pakistan (GoP) Sukuk, following the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) decision to allow commercial banks and mutual funds that are debt‑market clearing members of the National Clearing Company of Pakistan (NCCPL) to act as trading participants for GoP Sukuk.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The inducted funds include the CDC Trustee Meezan Islamic Asaan Cash Fund, the CDC Trustee Meezan Daily Income Fund (Meezan Munafa Plan‑I), and the CDC Trustee Meezan Government Securities Fund (Meezan Government Securities Plan‑I).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The induction was granted after the institutions fulfilled the required documentary, operational, and technical criteria, as noted in a PSX notice.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Under this arrangement, the approved participants may trade GoP Sukuk issued through primary market auctions on PSX for their own proprietary accounts, while trading in other fixed‑income securities—such as corporate debt securities and other government debt securities—remains prohibited.</p>
