ISLAMABAD, Sep 1 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a decline on Tuesday, dropping 508.69 points, or 0.29%, to close at 176,466.99 points, compared to the previous session’s close of 176,975.68 points.
The ready market recorded a trading volume of 784.466 million shares, down from 937.270 million shares in the prior session. Traded value decreased to Rs37.410 billion from Rs39.134 billion, while market capitalization fell to Rs19.782 trillion from Rs19.830 trillion.
Of the 498 companies that traded, 174 saw gains, 292 incurred losses, and 32 remained unchanged, indicating a downward market trend.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 191.729 million shares, followed by Pak Refinery with 58.149 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 40.783 million shares.
Top gainers included PIA Holding Company Limited-B, which surged by Rs102.00 to close at Rs17,300.00, and Buxly Paints Limited, which advanced by Rs84.25 to settle at Rs926.77.
On the losing side, Thal Industries Corporation Limited declined by Rs133.94 to close at Rs1,205.46, while Hoechst Pakistan Limited fell by Rs37.17 to Rs4,042.76.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover was 254.050 million shares with a traded value of Rs13.967 billion, compared to 238.374 million shares worth Rs11.702 billion previously.
Among the 303 companies traded in the DFC market, 98 advanced, 203 declined, and two remained unchanged.
