Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua addressed the media for the first time since finishing his offseason rehabilitation.
Nacua told reporters, “One of the key lessons I’ve learned is that it’s OK to ask for support and to acknowledge the platform I have as a professional football player.” He added, “I aim to leverage that platform for my own betterment and to benefit those around me and the people who have supported me,” via Tyler Dragon of USA Today.
Nacua expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the Rams organization and his personal circle.
“This offseason, I’ve been deeply appreciative of the support from the organization, particularly my teammates and friends who have reached out throughout the offseason,” Nacua said. “I’m truly grateful for the people surrounding me and within the organization.”
Nacua is currently facing a civil lawsuit filed by a woman who alleges he bit her left shoulder at a group dinner in Los Angeles on December 31 and made an antisemitic remark during the same event. She identifies as Jewish.
Plaintiff Madison Atiabi is seeking compensatory damages for assault and battery, gender‑based violence, and negligence.
He checked into a treatment center in Malibu earlier this spring.
