DOHA: Qatar’s foreign ministry announced that its top diplomat, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who serves as a key mediator in the Middle East conflict, met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday. The discussions focused on regional de-escalation and the necessary conditions for fostering dialogue.

The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Pezeshkian hosted the Qatari minister at his residence.
