RIYADH – Qatar strongly refuted online claims that Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani had said the United States and Iran failed to reach an agreement. The Gulf state condemned the misrepresentation as false and misleading, insisting that the minister’s comments were in fact aimed at promoting dialogue. A statement issued by Qatar’s International Media Office said the circulating reports had deliberately distorted the minister’s words and were being amplified by accounts seeking to inflame regional tensions. “His Excellency stated today that both sides are continuing to work toward a resolution,” the Office declared. Officials accused those propagating the false narrative of profiting from “ongoing war and instability,” labeling their attempts to mischaracterize the remarks as deeply irresponsible. Qatar reaffirmed its pivotal mediating role, noting that Qatari officials remain in close coordination with both Washington and Tehran to support active negotiations.
