Following the discovery of mysterious postcards by fans in both regions, Radiohead has officially confirmed a 2027 tour spanning Australia and Japan this upcoming summer.
The twenty-one-date itinerary comes exactly one year after the band announced its autumn 2025 European tour, which will be their first series of concerts since 2018. Much like the European leg, the Oceania and Japan run will consist of consecutive nights at select venues. The tour commences on May 3 at Rac Arena in Perth, where the band will perform four consecutive shows, followed by brief residencies in Melbourne and Sydney. The group then travels to Japan on June 8 for a five-night engagement at GMO Arena in Saitama, a major city located just north of Tokyo.
Radiohead previously performed in Australia in 2012 and last headlined Japan in October 2008 during the In Rainbows tour, though they also appeared at the Summer Sonic Festival in 2016. Earlier this year, guitarist Ed O’Brien told Rolling Stone that additional dates were imminent. “It’s definitely happening,” he stated. “Our plan is to visit a different continent every year and perform exactly twenty shows annually. No more, no less.”
The band’s highly successful 2025 European run treated fans to career-spanning setlists filled with surprises, including the return of “Jigsaw Falling into Place” and “(Nice Dream)” for the first time in sixteen years, “Just” for the first time since 2009, and “Kid A” and “Talk Show Host” for the first time since 2018. Enthusiasts anticipate unearthing more rare tracks on the upcoming journey, particularly given that In Rainbows approaches its twentieth anniversary this fall.
