Ratboys today reveal a deluxe reissue of their newest record, *Singin’ to an Empty Chair*, slated for release on September 25 through New West Records. This extended version adds covers taken from tracks originally released on the album by PUP, Wild Pink, Ducks Ltd., Bad Bad Hats and Free Range.
“We wanted to explore a cover of a song we love and then invite close collaborators and major influences to reinterpret parts of our new material. It felt unlike ever, and we’re incredibly grateful for their partnership.”
The announcement coincides with the launch of Ratboys’ first NPR Tiny Desk concert. On stage they performed the fan‑favorite “Black Earth, WI” together with two selections from *Singin’ to an Empty Chair* – “Penny in the Lake” and “What’s Right?”. The band will continue promoting their shows across the UK, Europe and North America throughout the summer, touring under the name Smidley, the solo project of Foxing frontman Conor Murphy.
