Real Madrid have completed the signing of Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, with the defender agreeing to a four-year contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Although the club has not officially disclosed the financial terms, reports indicate that Los Blancos triggered the 30-year-old’s release clause, valued at approximately €20 million (£17.1 million).
Dumfries arrives as a significant reinforcement for the right flank, providing depth and competition alongside Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez. His acquisition addresses a key strategic priority for the Spanish champions to bolster their defensive resources ahead of the new campaign.
The Dutch full-back departs the San Siro after three productive seasons. Since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2021, he amassed 207 appearances for the Nerazzurri, contributing 27 goals and 28 assists. During his tenure in Milan, Dumfries collected two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies.
A regular for the Netherlands national team, Dumfries featured prominently at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, helping the Oranje reach the quarter-finals. His blend of physicality, attacking output, and tactical versatility makes him a natural fit for Carlo Ancelotti’s system.
