A deadly heatwave is intensifying across Europe, affecting tens of millions as temperatures soar to record highs early in the season. Climate scientists attribute this extreme event to human-caused climate change, noting that such a heatwave would have been nearly impossible without anthropogenic factors. Switzerland has set a new record for the hottest June day for the third day in a row, forcing two nuclear reactors offline due to excessively warm waters in the Aare River. Denmark also set its highest temperature on record on Saturday, while Spain reports 327 heat-related fatalities so far this week.
