A theft occurred at the Museo Regionale in Messina, Sicily, on the night of August 15, where four Renaissance artworks by Antonello da Messina were stolen. The stolen pieces include three panels from the Polittico di San Gregorio, a significant loss for the city as these are part of the limited surviving works by the artist in his hometown.
