Rey Mysterio has praised Undertaker’s contributions to AAA, describing his work as “incredible.”
Mysterio, who serves as AAA general manager and is scheduled to face Omos on night one of TripleMania 34 this Friday, recently shared his thoughts with The Sun UK on what Undertaker brings to the promotion.
According to Mysterio, Undertaker’s storytelling approach has proven to be “the perfect formula” for AAA audiences:
“I think Taker said it best. When he first came down to AAA, he said, ‘I don’t wanna change what you guys have already built here, I just wanna add.'”
“So, it was perfect. Now the fans around Mexico who are not accustomed to maybe seeing long storylines or sequences of matches, or sequences of stories that lead into a particular or special match, that is now all happening.”
“It’s like the perfect formula for the Mexican fan base. And for the rest of the world, it’s something that they’ve been watching for years in WWE.”
“So, I think Undertaker is doing incredible there and I’m just enjoying every moment, you know, every time I step into AAA.”
Rey Mysterio vs. Omos at AAA TripleMania 34
Mysterio vs. Omos will headline night one of TripleMania 34 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The match carries the stipulation that if Mysterio wins, Omos is permanently banned from AAA. However, if Omos defeats Mysterio, he will be reinstated.
Omos was suspended following a physical altercation with Mysterio on the August 22 episode of AAA on Fox after his match against Galeno. Omos continued attacking Galeno after the match and later struck Mysterio after the AAA general manager announced his suspension.
I really loved having the chance to speak to Rey Msyterio again, especially with such a big weekened looming!
We get into working with Undertaker in AAA, Dominik in AAA vs WWE, Aalyah’s wrestling training, after retirement and THAT theme song…
Enjoy …
