Ric Flair Sues Digital Agency for $10 Million Over Alleged Fraudulent Contract

According to an exclusive report by The Independent, WWE Hall of Famer “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is suing digital talent agency FAM Networks.

Flair alleges he was misled into surrendering the rights to his image and likeness in exchange for a promised six-figure monthly revenue stream that never materialized.

The $10 million lawsuit, obtained by The Independent, states that Flair devoted four decades “building something…through his body, his blood, his pain, his persona, his craft and his commitment to excellence at a level that only sixteen world championships can describe.”

The complaint contends that FAM “waited until he needed help managing the digital legacy of everything he had built, presented him with a document he was not equipped to understand, told him he had lawyers when he did not, gave him fourteen minutes to read it, and walked away with a perpetual license to his identity.”

Speaking by phone from Florida, the 77-year-old Flair told The Independent he “wants to bury” the people at FAM Networks, having lost at least $250,000 in revenues to date.

The lawsuit further indicates Flair is seeking at least $5 million for breach of contract and at least $5 million for fraudulent inducement:

• Flair is now asking a judge to rescind the agreement with FAM, to order control of his Facebook page returned to him, a declaratory judgment stating that FAM has no right to his name, image, or likeness, and for a ‘complete accounting of revenues generated in his name.’
• He is also demanding compensatory damages, among other things, of at least $5 million for breach of contract; compensatory and punitive damages of at least $5 million for fraudulent inducement; compensatory damages to be determined at trial for violations of New York Civil Rights Law; compensatory and punitive damages for tortious interference with prospective economic advantage, also to be determined at trial; and disgorgement of all amounts by which FAM ‘has been unjustly enriched at [Flair’s] expense,’ plus attorneys’ fees and court costs.

The complaint also states that when Flair signed the contract with FAM, the company was already embroiled in an almost identical lawsuit involving ufologist Steven Greer, and that FAM failed to disclose this information before he signed the agreement.

Furthermore, per The Independent, FAM maintains offices in Los Angeles and New York, yet messages sent to five different departments by the news outlet all came back as undeliverable. As of Tuesday, the contact form on the FAM website is non-functional and no publicly listed phone number is available to reach a company representative.
