Rubio Asserts Strait of Hormuz Must Remain Open, Says “One Way or the Other”

May 26 (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz must stay open, saying it “has to be open, one way or the other,” in the context of U.S. airstrikes on Iranian targets the previous day.

Speaking to reporters aboard his plane in Jaipur, India, Rubio reiterated the importance of maintaining maritime access through the strait, adding that Tehran could “take a few days” to negotiate the language of any potential agreement.
