U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio characterized Wednesday’s discussions between envoy Steve Witkoff and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo as constructive, telling reporters in India that the meeting produced “nothing unexpected, nothing surprising.”
Rubio said Witkoff is now en route to St. Petersburg to convey ideas from the Oslo session to Russian officials. “Armed with those ideas, [he will] be able to go to St. Petersburg and share them with the Russian side — and let’s see if we can make some progress,” Rubio said.
