Ryley Walker Signs to AD 93 and Unveils First Song in Five Years

Ryley Walker returns with a new record label and his first new track in five years. The singer‑songwriter‑guitarist—formerly credited on the 2021 album Course in Fable—has officially signed with AD 93 and released his debut single “Carrier.” Below you’ll find the full track and its accompanying video, directed by Kendra Calhoun.

Walker characterized “Carrier” in earlier materials as a “clock‑out jam,” a composition he began developing during grueling shifts at a service job in New York. He said the song draws heavily on memories from his hometown of Rockford, Illinois. Imprecise wording corrected: He imagined residents in SpongeBob‑style pajamas gathering at what felt like a funeral, shouting inside a salvage‑title Honda Civic with a lift kit—a vision he calls daily inspiration.

Following his 2021 release Course in Fable, Walker has remained active through collaborative gigs. His recent work includes playing guitar for James K and Joanne Robertson, as well as collaborations with Charles Rumback, Steve Gunn, Chris Corsano, and David Grubb.
