Celebrity photographer Mickey Blank, who has spent more than a decade covering New York events, told BBC Newsbeat that Madison Square Garden is currently swarming with press but lacks visible activity.
Despite speculation about a red‑carpet reception for A‑list guests, Blank said she does not anticipate a parade of famous arrivals.
“It’s like Pentagon‑level secrecy,” she explained.
“You cannot go in, you cannot see anything.”
The venue features underground parking that enables discreet arrivals, yet a large white canopy tent has been erected in front of the arena where many guests are expected to gather.
Several high‑profile attendees, including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, are likely to use the underground entrance to maintain privacy.
“Your odds of spotting Taylor Swift are essentially zero,” Blank remarked.
She noted that preparing the arena presents a significant challenge given the recent events that have taken place there, most recently a darts championship filled with beer‑drinking fans in costume.
“The floor was so sticky, I could barely move,” she said.
Previously, the arena hosted a rock concert for the Bleachers and earlier in the month featured parties and New York Knicks games following their NBA Championship victory.
Converting the space into a wedding venue will be a substantial undertaking.
“I can’t picture the logistics involved,” Blank added.
