International artist Samuel has unveiled ‘Samuelito,’ a four-track EP that fuses Latin rhythms, reggaeton vigor, and the performance‑centric style honed during his time in the Korean music scene.
Born in Los Angeles to a Mexican‑American family, Samuel began his artistic journey in South Korea’s music industry, where he refined his performance techniques and vocal versatility across pop and R&B. This dual heritage informs the core of ‘Samuelito,’ which foregrounds Latin influences while embedding them within contemporary, globally resonant arrangements.
‘Samuelito’ draws its name from a childhood nickname that has accompanied Samuel throughout his life. For the artist, the title represents a reclamation of his authentic self, translating personal narrative into musical expression. Drawing on years of stage experience from childhood onward, and armed with a more mature artistic outlook, Samuel was deeply involved in both songwriting and performance direction for the project, framing it as a statement of self‑definition as much as a genre experiment.
The EP comprises four tracks—‘Hola!,’ ‘Zigi‑Zigi‑Zigi,’ ‘Never Say Goodbye…,’ and ‘Ddook Ddak’—arranged as a concise narrative arc, progressing from an introductory statement through rhythmic momentum, a brief moment of introspection, to a concluding resolution. A music video has been released for the lead single ‘Zigi‑Zigi‑Zigi.’
The release follows Samuel’s accumulation of over two million followers on Instagram, with additional activity slated for the summer as he expands his global career.
