RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is advancing its vocational training programs for vulnerable populations in Gaza, including persons with disabilities, as part of its Economic Empowerment Project in collaboration with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The initiative offers comprehensive courses in graphic design, digital marketing, translation, freelancing, virtual assistance, and remote business management. Additional training focuses on practical skills such as men’s grooming, women’s beauty services, embroidery, sewing, and handicrafts, aiming to enhance employability and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The program’s first phase commenced this week in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza, with a launch ceremony attended by officials from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UNFPA, OCHA, and local and international partners.
Targeting over 1,000 trainees from marginalized groups, the initiative spans approximately 130 hours of training across eight specialized tracks. Graduates will receive diplomas and professional toolkits to facilitate workforce entry and income generation.
This project aligns with the Kingdom’s broader humanitarian mission under KSrelief to support economic recovery and empower youth in Gaza, contributing to long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Separately, a humanitarian aid convoy delivered tents for displaced families, managed by KSrelief’s partner the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage. Field teams are coordinating direct distribution to shelters and camps across Gaza.
Concurrently, KSrelief’s central kitchen in Gaza has distributed over 76,000 hot meals in three days, providing critical food support to residents in central and southern Gaza through its ongoing relief efforts.
These initiatives reflect Saudi Arabia’s holistic approach through KSrelief to address both urgent humanitarian needs and sustainable recovery in Gaza, combining immediate aid with capacity-building programs.
