Saudi air defenses intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile north of Riyadh early Wednesday, according to the coalition supporting Yemen’s sovereignty. Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki stated on X that the launch platform had been tracked over Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.
In separate attacks Monday night, three people were injured when the Iran-backed group targeted airports in Najran and Jazan. Coalition forces also thwarted an earlier missile aimed at Khamis Mushait.
During a cabinet session Tuesday, Saudi ministers condemned the rebels for opting for military escalation over peace and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and internationally recognized government in their efforts to restore state institutions.
