RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) recently completed a five-day training-of-trainers initiative focused on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, a key UN treaty promoting gender equality. The program, held at the HRC headquarters in Riyadh in collaboration with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, brought together government representatives and civil society organizations.
HRC President Hala Al-Tuwaijri highlighted the strategic importance of developing national expertise in human rights, emphasizing that investing in local talent ensures the sustained dissemination of knowledge across institutions.
The training aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of international gender equality standards, refine their instructional techniques, and empower them to implement these principles effectively within their respective organizations.
This effort aligns with the HRC’s broader mission to raise societal awareness of women’s rights and strengthen the long-term effectiveness of Saudi Arabia’s human rights initiatives.
