SCO at 25: Divergent Agendas Shape Bishkek Summit

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization convened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to mark its 25th anniversary with a major diplomatic gathering. Twenty-one heads of state and government assembled for a ceremonial group photograph and adopted a two-page Bishkek Declaration on September 1. The summit yielded 28 agreements spanning areas including strengthened multilateral cooperation on nuclear energy and other strategic priorities.
