Seahawks GM John Schneider Confirms Practice Squad Plan for Trevon Diggs

The Seattle Seahawks officially released cornerback Trevon Diggs on Sunday, but this decision is expected to be temporary.

According to Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune, General Manager John Schneider stated on Sunday that the organization intends to add Diggs to their practice squad.

As a vested veteran, Diggs will not be required to pass through waivers. Although he could theoretically sign with another team’s roster or practice squad, his recent arrival in Seattle makes it unlikely that there will be significant interest from elsewhere.

Schneider noted that the players, coaches, and staff all have a connection with Diggs, and that he needs more time to acclimate to the system.

Diggs was a second-round selection by the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 and was a two-time Pro Bowler during his time in Dallas.
