Sebastian Stan Officially Confirms Portrayal of Harvey Dent in ‘The Batman Part II’

With the production of The Batman Part II officially underway and a tentative February 18, 2028 release date in place, the ensemble cast remains largely unconfirmed. However, actor Sebastian Stan has now definitively verified his participation, confirming he portrays Harvey Dent in the upcoming DC blockbuster.

In an interview with French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, Stan addressed his role while discussing the contrasting filmmaking processes between The Batman: Part II and his Marvel Studios project Avengers: Doomsday. Highlighting the secretive nature of his future appearance, Stan stated, “I also can’t say anything about The Batman: Part II, by Matt Reeves, where I play Harvey Dent.” This confirmation resolves prior speculation about his character, which briefly leaned toward Victor Zsasz due to his shaved-head appearance on set.

The official casting announcements for The Batman Part II remain sparse beyond Stan’s confirmation. Rumors suggest Charles Dance may portray Dent’s father, Christopher Dent, while Bryan Tyree Henry is tipped for a role as Detective Harvey Bullock. Additionally, Scarlett Johansson’s potential casting as a reimagined Poison Ivy has sparked considerable online discussion.

Stan joins a lineage of actors who have portrayed Harvey Dent/Two-Face, including Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight, Nicholas D’Agosto in Gotham, and Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever. Animated interpretations feature vocal performances from Billy Dee Williams, Misha Collins, and Neil Patrick Harris, among others.
