The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) announced that 3,161 new companies were incorporated in May.
The regulator noted that the cumulative total of registered entities now stands at 297,239.
According to the statement, 99% of these incorporations were completed online, including 260 firms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 112 in Gilgit‑Baluchistan, and 71 in Balochistan.
In addition, 1,643 firms were registered in Punjab, 596 in Islamabad, and 479 in Sindh.
The information technology and e‑commerce sector recorded the highest volume of new registrations during the month.
The IT sector topped all categories with 598 new registrations, succeeded by trading (503) and services (404).
The real estate and construction sector recorded 303 new incorporations.
The tourism and transport sector saw 206 new registrations in May.
The statement also highlighted robust foreign investment activity, with company incorporations by investors from 17 countries.
According to the SECP, 89 Chinese shareholders assumed directorship roles in these entities,
Collectively, the foreign‑invested firms possessed a paid‑up capital of Rs139.4 million.
