The U.S. Secret Service confirmed Thursday night that a suspect was taken into custody and charged after officers found him inside a vehicle near the White House in possession of multiple firearms. The arrest occurred following a report of suspicious behavior, with Secret Service officers approaching the parked car earlier that evening. According to a Department of Homeland Security statement, the individual has been identified as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, a Venezuelan national who entered the United States through Texas in March 2024 and is currently residing in the country without legal authorization.

During questioning, Chrinos stated that he had been hearing voices commanding him to travel to the nation’s capital and harm former President Donald Trump. Officials noted that this incident forms part of a broader pattern of arrests by the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies targeting individuals who have threatened the former president or his family members since he resumed office.

A subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed that it had been reported stolen, and authorities discovered three firearms along with dozens of rounds of ammunition inside. Chrinos has been formally charged and is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, as confirmed by DHS.

The White House declined to issue a public statement regarding the arrest, referring all inquiries to the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.
