(GlobeNewswire) – Sera Prognostics, Inc. (SERA), a leader in maternal-fetal health diagnostic solutions, has appointed Scott Gleason as Chief Financial Officer, effective Monday, August 31, 2026. This strategic hire underscores the company’s focus on scaling its innovative preterm birth prevention technology.
Gleason brings three decades of healthcare finance expertise, with prior CFO roles at LarmorBio, NX Prenatal, and interim leadership at OraSure Technologies. His background in investor relations and capital markets strengthens Sera’s financial infrastructure as it expands commercial access to its flagship PreTRM Test.
The PreTRM Test, a blood-based biomarker assay administered between 18-20 weeks gestation, provides physicians with early risk assessment capabilities for spontaneous preterm birth in asymptomatic singleton pregnancies. This clinical decision-support tool enables personalized care pathways to improve neonatal outcomes.
Gleason replaces Austin Aerts, who served as CFO since June 2023 and played a pivotal role in Sera’s successful public market transition. Aerts will maintain a consultative position to support ongoing strategic initiatives and organizational continuity.
Sera’s CEO Zhenya Lindgardt emphasized Gleason’s appointment as critical timing for market expansion: “Scott’s financial acumen and healthcare industry relationships will accelerate our mission to reduce preterm birth rates through enhanced test accessibility.” The company reported strong investor confidence following Wednesday’s 3.11% intraday gain, with shares trading at $1.99.
