Tennis icon Serena Williams was among the first global sports stars to salute Lewis Hamilton after his dominant performance at the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Competing in his second season with Ferrari, Hamilton secured the win on Sunday afternoon by executing a precise three-stop strategy. The victory marks a significant milestone, representing Hamilton’s 106th career win and his inaugural triumph with the Maranello-based team.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion took to her Instagram Story shortly after the race, sharing Hamilton’s own post—captioned “REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE”—with the heartfelt message: “Never forget. I love you bro.”

Novak Djokovic, who was in attendance at the event and had the honor of waving the chequered flag, also acknowledged the achievement, simply describing the victory as “Greatness.”

Following a challenging debut season with Ferrari in 2025, Hamilton has shown a strong resurgence this year. Prior to this win, he secured a third-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix and runner-up spots in Monaco and Canada.

Reflecting on the emotional milestone, the seven-time world champion addressed the hardships he has faced in recent years. “To all the fans, this win is for you. I could not have made it to this moment without the support from you all,” he wrote on Instagram.

“There have been dark times, times where the negativity won out and I felt useless and hope felt impossible. You all told me to remember. To remember to fight, to remember to keep going. To remember who I am. This win is just as much yours as it is mine. Thank you, Team LH, thank you, Tifosi. Let’s keep it going.”

With this victory, Hamilton now trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 41 points in the drivers’ standings.
