Shakur Stevenson may be nearing confirmation of his return to the ring.
The American fighter last competed in January, when he defeated Teofimo Lopez to capture the WBO super‑lightweight title and become a four‑division world champion.
Although Stevenson signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing in July, nearly nine months have passed since his last bout.
His name has been mentioned alongside potential opponents such as Gary Antuanne Russell and O’Shaquie Foster, and rumors once linked him to a Manny Pacquiao showdown on the Tyson Fury–Anthony Joshua card in Cardiff on December 11.
Those Pacquiao rumors have since been dismissed, and Stevenson has instead hinted that a previously discussed mega‑fight could be revived after he tagged Devin Haney on social media.

Earlier this year, Stevenson and Haney explored a possible 144‑pound catchweight encounter, but the dialogue faded and the bout appeared to be off the table.
The recent exchange — Stevenson’s tweet and a corresponding post from Haney — suggests the matchup may be resurrected, pitting two of the sport’s top pound‑for‑pound talents against each other.
Haney holds the WBO welterweight title after his victory over Brian Norman Jr last November, yet he has remained inactive since, with that fight marking his most recent appearance almost a year ago.
