Today, Shelly introduces the Presence Gen4 sensor, enhancing smart home automation with camera-free technology. Using advanced mmWave radar, it tracks multiple individuals and pets in real-time, ensuring privacy. Priced at $84.99, it’s available now online, with wider retail distribution expected shortly.
The sensor is designed for versatile installation, with a built-in stand for shelf or table use, or wall mounting for optimal coverage. It features a 140-degree horizontal field of view, capable of monitoring areas up to 650 square feet. Power is supplied via USB-C, and it integrates seamlessly with popular smart home ecosystems such as Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant, supporting multiple connectivity protocols including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Matter.
The Presence Gen4 enables a range of automations, such as controlling lights, heating, cooling, or music based on occupancy. Users can create up to 10 customizable detection zones for precise actions—for instance, activating a desk lamp only when someone is seated, or powering the home theater when the sofa is occupied. Additionally, sensitivity settings allow for the inclusion of pets or the exclusion of low objects, preventing unnecessary triggers from devices like robotic vacuums.
