The Sindh provincial cabinet has officially approved the proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, according to reports from state broadcaster PTV.
During a session presided over by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the CM stated that the proposed budget is designed to be inclusive, catering to all societal strata with a specific strategic focus on poverty eradication across the province.
The government also utilized the session to determine the updated minimum wage for workers, a key component of the upcoming financial plan.
Chief Minister Murad, who also serves as the finance minister, is scheduled to formally present the budget during the Sindh Assembly session later today.
According to a statement from the CM House, the cabinet commended the “record” development milestones achieved during the previous fiscal year.
The statement further noted that the cabinet reaffirmed its dedication to public service under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
Additionally, the final budget proposal includes a mandated increase in the minimum wage for the province’s workforce.
