The Sindh government has declared Wednesday, July 29, a public holiday to mark the annual urs of the renowned Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
As stated in a notification released on Monday, the provincial administration has designated July 29 as a public holiday across Sindh for all government offices, autonomous and semi‑autonomous entities, corporations, and local councils under its jurisdiction, while essential services will remain operational.
The announcement was posted by the Sindh Information Department on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
The three‑day annual urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai takes place each year beginning on Safar 14 at his shrine in Bhit Shah.
