Hyderabad – Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that security has been tightened and special arrangements implemented along the routes of Ashura processions throughout the province, including Hyderabad.
Speaking to reporters at his Tandojam residence on Wednesday, he said that all arrangements were finalized after consultations with religious scholars. “Alhamdulillah, the law‑and‑order situation has improved owing to effective measures taken by the Sindh government across the province.”
He dismissed the notion that the NFC award had been reduced, stating that provinces have adjusted their allocations in line with national priorities.
He noted that all provinces are receiving reduced shares, which could impact development projects and limit the overall development portfolio.

Memon reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to public welfare. He said that opposition members had not even read the budget, choosing instead to create a disturbance and walk out of the assembly.
He accused the federal government of injustice, noting that despite the fact that all of the country’s imports and exports pass through Karachi, there remains no motorway linking Karachi with Sukkur.
He observed that the province, which contributes the highest tax revenue, has been neglected, yet he expressed optimism that the promises made to Sindh will be honored.
He explained that the Sindh government is implementing a network of development projects across various cities. To date, more than 3,000 kilometers of roads have been built, with additional pink scooters to be distributed. Additionally, 500 electric buses are being introduced, and double‑decker buses are expected soon.
He said that the Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation (Hesco) and K‑Electric are working to improve the electricity supply system.
He described the condition of the road between Hyderabad and Sukkur as extremely poor, likening the journey to traveling in an ambulance.
When asked about the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, Mr. Memon replied, “I pray for his release.”
In response to a question about rumors of a government change in Sindh, he said that such discussions are merely circulating on YouTube.
