Sir Tom Jones has announced the postponement of two upcoming concerts on his “Come Gather Round” world tour after contracting a severe case of the flu. The 86-year-old music legend, originally from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, revealed the decision on Monday following medical advice.

The affected shows include Monday night’s performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Tuesday’s scheduled concert in San Diego. In a statement shared on Instagram, Jones explained that he had unexpectedly fallen ill after completing 20 successful shows across the United States.

“Following doctor’s advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight’s show in Los Angeles and tomorrow’s show in San Diego,” the statement read. “I’ve had a great time these last few weeks… singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I’ve been hit with a bad case of the flu.”

Jones apologized to ticket holders for the inconvenience. “I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon.”

The San Diego concert has been rescheduled for November 3 at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, while the Los Angeles show will now take place on November 4. The Greek Theatre was among the venues extending well wishes to the singer shortly after the announcement.

Organizers confirmed that all tickets purchased for the original dates will remain valid for the rescheduled performances. Ticket holders unable to attend the new dates are advised to contact their original point of purchase to request a refund.
