SK Group and NVIDIA Unveil Over $500 Billion AI Factory and Next-Gen Memory Initiative

SK Group and NVIDIA have deepened their strategic collaboration through a comprehensive $500-billion-plus initiative focused on AI factory development and next-generation memory. The two companies formalized the partnership with letters of intent, aiming to build large-scale AI infrastructure tailored to soaring global compute demand.

A cornerstone of the initiative is SK Telecom’s construction of a 2-gigawatt NVIDIA Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory in South Korea, slated for a 2027 launch. Designed on NVIDIA’s DSX full-stack AI factory architecture, the facility integrates accelerated computing, systems, software, and partner technologies to maximize energy efficiency and minimize the cost per token.

Building on decades of partnership, including SK Telecom’s recent AI Cloud project, the new factory will be powered by NVIDIA Vera Rubin accelerated computing and SK hynix’s HBM4 memory. It will accelerate sovereign, physical, agentic, and enterprise AI services, responding to a rapidly expanding demand across South Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

In parallel, SK hynix and NVIDIA have established a long-term AI memory partnership. The agreement secures a stable supply of next-generation AI memory for NVIDIA while strengthening SK hynix’s growth foundation. The two companies will collaborate to develop and optimize advanced memory solutions, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), to support workloads ranging from large language model training to agentic and physical AI.

The SK Telecom and NVIDIA collaboration will also unlock broader access to advanced cloud services, enabling SK Telecom to scale large-scale AI infrastructure while making high-capital resources accessible to a more extensive customer base.
