Japan ‘excellent candidate’ for South Korean chipmaker’s overseas plants

TOKYO – SK Hynix is planning to triple its wafer production capacity by 2034 to accommodate the growing demand for memory chips that power artificial intelligence and other high‑performance computing applications. Chairman Chey Tae‑won detailed the expansion in a conversation with Nikkei Asia on Wednesday.
