Skanska AB announced on Friday that it has obtained an initial contract from an existing client to construct a data center in Virginia, with a value of $94 million (approximately 870 million Swedish kronor).
Construction is slated to commence in October 2026, with an anticipated completion date in May 2028.
The contract will be recorded in Skanska’s U.S. order backlog for the second quarter of 2026.
The project entails building a 19,500‑square‑meter data center comprising four data halls, along with accompanying site work and underground utility installations.
This facility will represent the second structure erected on the campus.
On Thursday, Skanska’s shares closed 0.82% higher at SEK 259.20 on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
