The Solana Foundation has named Rachel Conlan, a former Binance executive, as its new chief strategy officer, reinforcing the blockchain’s push into institutional finance and tokenized assets.

Conlan will oversee strategy for institutional partnerships, ecosystem development, and onboarding new enterprises onto Solana, the foundation announced Thursday. She previously spent three years at Binance, most recently serving as global chief marketing officer, before departing the exchange in June.

The foundation also appointed Jamal Raees as general manager for payments. Raees joins from Polygon Labs and previously worked at stablecoin infrastructure provider Bridge—now part of Stripe—and crypto payments firm Wyre. He will lead efforts to onboard payments companies and other businesses to use Solana for money movement.

The hires come as Solana increasingly targets traditional financial institutions and positions its network as infrastructure beyond crypto trading. Stablecoin payments, tokenized funds, and equities have become central to the pitch as financial institutions explore moving assets and settlement onto public blockchains.
