BAHAWALPUR: A man allegedly hacked his father to death with an axe following a heated argument in Mauza Kachawah, within the jurisdiction of the Samasatta police station, on Wednesday.
According to reports, the suspect, Muhammad Zafar, returned home after irrigating his fields with an axe resting on his shoulder. His father, Khan Muhammad, reportedly confronted him harshly regarding his whereabouts, sparking a verbal altercation. During the exchange, Zafar allegedly lost his temper and attacked his father with the axe.
The victim sustained critical injuries and died at the scene due to excessive bleeding.
Upon receiving notification, Samasatta police arrived at the location accompanied by forensic experts and the crime scene unit. The body was transported to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities confirmed the arrest of the suspect and stated that further investigation is underway.
